International Honorary Member, Earlene Fowler's New Book, LOVE MERCY available in March!

Earlene's new book comes out in March. It isn't a Benni Harper book but Benni and Gabe are minor characters. It is set today so you get to see them later in their lives together. I've read the manuscript, can't wait to have the real book in hand and read it again. No one writes characters like Earlene and her new characters are real from the first page. I think you'll love this book. I did. You can hear Earlene talk about the book in this You Tube video, the link is also on our links page.

A Coup for us! Dear Abby

October 23rd, Beta Sigma Phi will be mentioned in Dear Abby as a way for women to make friends, thanks to a letter from one of our loyal sisters in Ontario, Canada! Abby has 110 Million readers so we hope to get lots of new names for possible members. Please be sure to call any names that International sends you that this article might generate, this is our big chance for free publicity. Let's be sure to use it wisely!

Beta Sigma Phi Benefits

We have so many benefits of membership --- but now you'll have a list of benefits at your fingertips when you need inf. on our insurance programs, discount programs, fund-raising projects... whatever you or the chapter need.

Beta Sigma Phi International Has it's 15 minutes of Fame!

Beta Sigma Phi International was the stand in for a school building in an Ebay ad for their new Shop Victoriously drive. The ad is appearing in Rolling Stone Magazine and a few other venues. See if you can catch a glimpse. We found out how unexciting the making of this kind of ad was the day they spent here doing it. Each item was shot separately and then added in post production. "We're ready for our close up, Mr. DeMille."

Party Boxes

Everyone loves a party and here's your chance to host one.
How about your chapter planning a party for another chapter.
You choose the theme, provide all the props, place them in a box and deliver.
Then wait to hear what a good time they had.
Does your chapter have a special way of celebrating holidays or local events?
You can share something special and unique about your area using the party box.
The box should contain your chapter's name, address, entire list of your members, a short chapter history, and most of all - a disposable camera.
This will allow the chapter who receives your box to take pictures of their chapter enjoying the party theme you sent them.
Then it would be their turn to send your chapter a Party Box.
This is a fun idea for large city councils that want their chapters to be closer or a unique idea for an upcoming convention or statewide gathering.

A 2009 Cruise to Greek Islands and more!

If you are interested in traveling with your sisters, check out the Beta Sigma Phi cruise for this year. The link for the site is on our links page under conventions. One of our long time members is overseeing it and has great plans for you to have lots of fun. The deadline is in August so check it out soon.

Avoid returned mail!

International has received a lot of returned mail lately for our members. That costs us and keeps you from getting your information. Please remember to let International know when your address changes. That applies to phone or email address changes as well. Thank you.

Great Idea for Favors!

Go to the M&M's website. www.mms.com and order custom printed M&M's there's a minimum of four packages. But how cool. Founder's Days, conventions, you name it you can think of something to print and who doesn't love M&M's.

Need a Service Project?

If you are looking for a service project please consider writing to or sending packages to our armed forces. Remember we have sisters in the military as well as children of sisters, they can use our support. There is a link on our links page to Books for Soldiers a website that gives you names and contacts for solidiers needing books and other items. This site was given to me by a member in California when I mentioned at convention my hope that members who had sisters or children overseas would share the names of soldiers they might hear of who weren't getting mail. We can fill a void for someone who is fighting for us. Let us know if you have anyone who needs contact or if you have been able to help.

How to Return History Books with bad photo...

Some of the history books had a bad photo on the final photo page of the TORCH staff. It is blue. If you got this here is what they have told us to tell you. You can call for address etc. if you need to. As for other members, they can ship the books back for replacement, but should include a note in the package with the problem. We can reimburse up to $6.95 for the return shipping.
